  • We teach you strategies for letting go of worries, coping with uncertainty, making decisions more easily, and becoming more assertive. We help you practice emotion regulation skills and mindfulness. To learn more, please go here.

  • We focus on exposure therapy to help you gradually, but steadily confront the situations that make you feel panicky and anxious. We help you let go of clutches that might give you a false sense of safety in anxiety provoking situations. We teach you breathing exercises, acceptance, and mindfulness to free yourself from panic.   • We teach you “exposure and response prevention (ERP)” so that you can break the vicious cycle of obsessions and compulsions. We address many forms of OCD, including “pure O” and relationship OCD. To learn more, please go here.

  • We teach you “habit reversal training” (HRT), which consists of identifying triggers that lead to skin picking, hair pulling, and other body-focused repetitive behaviors. Dr. Amelia Aldao, Ph.D.

Practice Director & Anxiety/OCD Specialist

Specialties: generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, health anxiety, skin picking, hair pulling, sleep difficulties, and parenting. I used to be a management consultant for a “Big 3” firm, so I also specialize in stress management for high performers. I do therapy in English & Spanish

Our student therapists are currently pursuing PsyDs in Clinical Psychology and receiving CBT supervision at Together CBT. They work directly under the supervision of Dr. Aldao and offer their services at a lower fee.

 
 

 
 

Moises Hernandez

Welcome, I specialize in the practice and development of treatments for anxiety and depression. My therapy approach is warm and empathetic. I use techniques from emotion regulation, cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and dialectical-behavioral therapies. You may opt to work with me in-person or via telehealth. I also provide therapy in English and Spanish. 

Education: I am currently a Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University. I hold a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. John’s University.

Research interests: My research focuses on the development and testing of evidence-based treatments for anxiety and depression, with a bio-psycho-social lens. This is a holistic approach to treatment that seeks to address your physical, emotional, and social well-being.
